David Lloyd "Chief” Wittman is the Commander of VFW Post 6731 and a retired United States Navy Chief Petty Officer. He honorably served from 1977 to 1997, completing a 20-year Navy career in the U.S. Submarine Force and Naval Special Warfare, including deployments aboard Fast Attack & Fleet Ballistic Missile submarines and service during the Cold War and the Gulf War. 

Following his military career, Chief Wittman continued serving others through leadership, ministry, mentoring, and community involvement. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Instructional Design and Technology, bringing strong leadership, technical, and organizational experience to every role he serves in. 

As Commander of VFW Post 6731 and a Golf Legacy Life Member, Dave (Chief) Wittman is committed to honoring veterans, strengthening fellowship among service members, supporting military families, and preserving the values of duty, patriotism, and service. His lifelong dedication to veterans and the military community reflects his continued commitment to serving those who have served our nation.
